Bringing Essential Resources to Historically Underserved Communities

LiveWellViveBien (LWVB) is our signature program designed to address critical resource gaps in communities that lack supporting infrastructure. Each month we work to coordinate mobile market ecosystems that offer food and auxiliary services directly to the people who need them most.

Our Mission

We serve communities classified as "resource deserts" - areas with limited access to essential services including:

  • Food resources

  • Healthcare services

  • Other vital community support systems

Communities We Currently Serve

  • Colony Park

  • Del Valle

  • Creedmoor

How It Works

The heart of LiveWellViveBien extends from a community-centered approach and the support of dedicated service providers. Together with our main partner, the Central Texas Food Bank, we ensure monthly food distributions are available to residents where they live.

Access to Healthcare

We connect residents with affordable, quality healthcare services, including:

  • Preventative care & screenings

  • Mental health resources

  • Nutrition and wellness programs

  • Maternal and child health support

Safe & Active Communities

A strong community includes safe spaces for recreation and connection. We advocate for:

  • Green spaces and parks

  • Walking and biking infrastructure

  • Community fitness programs

  • Violence prevention and neighborhood safety initiatives

Healthy & Affordable Food

Good nutrition is essential to long-term well-being. We work to increase access to:

  • Farmers’ markets and community gardens

  • Grocery stores and fresh food options

  • Nutrition education programs

  • Food security resources for families

Mental Health & Emotional Well-being

Health goes beyond the physical. We promote:

  • Stress management and mindfulness programs

  • Support groups and counseling resources

  • Culturally responsive mental health services

The Intersection of Community Needs

LiveWellViveBien goes beyond a single-focus approach by activating all four of Equidad's essential pillars: Mixed-Income Housing, Health and Wellness, Cradle to College Education, and Economic Vitality.

Our program serves as a crucial bridge to resources until permanent brick-and-mortar facilities arrive in these underserved communities.

Our mobile markets feature carefully selected partners who deliver specialized services tailored to each community's unique challenges and aspirations.

LWVB thrives through a dynamic partnership network we've built with local nonprofits who join us in the field. These organizations provide education and specialized services tailored to each community's unique needs, creating a comprehensive support system that addresses multiple challenges simultaneously. This integrated approach recognizes a fundamental truth: community transformation happens when multiple dimensions of wellbeing advance together.

Our Impact

While primarily operating under our health and wellness pillar, LiveWellViveBien actively intersects with all four organizational pillars, creating a holistic approach to community development and support.

We're helping build stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities throughout Central Texas. Join us!
